My entry for 's contest, some Electric snakes for ya


ZAPLET (zap + -let (means smaller, baby, etc.))

The Circuit Pokémon
When ZAPLET bite their tails, they complete a circuit for
the electricity their body produces, allowing them to
stiffen up and spin like small wheels.

VOLCONDU (volt + corruption of conduct)

The ThunderPython Pokémon
VOLCONDU each have two electrified antennae that
they use to obtain food easily. After stopping at the side
of a lake or pond, a VOLCONDU lowers its head into the
water, then touches its two antennae together,
electrocuting all animals in the water and allowing the
VOLCONDU an easy meal.

INSPIRATION:
The inspiration for these guys came mainly from this unique type of snake, the
erpeton tentaculatum en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tentacle…, a unique
serpent that has two feelers on its brow to help it sense movement in the water. I tried to imitate both the direction and placement of the tentacles with each 'mon, along with the striping patterns on the erpeton's back. However, I used a garden-snake type head for Zaplet to make it appear less threatening.
