My entry for
's contest, some Electric snakes for ya ZAPLET
(zap + -let (means smaller, baby, etc.))The Circuit PokémonWhen ZAPLET bite their tails, they complete a circuit for
the electricity their body produces, allowing them to
stiffen up and spin like small wheels.Evolves at Level 37 into VOLCONDU VOLCONDU
(volt + corruption of conduct)The ThunderPython PokémonVOLCONDU each have two electrified antennae that
they use to obtain food easily. After stopping at the side
of a lake or pond, a VOLCONDU lowers its head into the
water, then touches its two antennae together,
electrocuting all animals in the water and allowing the
VOLCONDU an easy meal. Evolves from ZAPLET at Level 37
The inspiration for these guys came mainly from this unique type of snake, the erpeton tentaculatum en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tentacle…
, a unique
serpent that has two feelers on its brow to help it sense movement in the water. I tried to imitate both the direction and placement of the tentacles with each 'mon, along with the striping patterns on the erpeton's back. However, I used a garden-snake type head for Zaplet to make it appear less threatening.
Well, here's to hoping I win, and good luck to everyone else!
